We aim to house the bulk of conference attendees at a wheelchair accessible church in Amherst, MA. You will be sleeping on the floor in a large, open sanctuary space. There will be some off campus housing for those with special needs, but everyone will be housed near a bus line that goes to and from the college or with individuals who have transporation.
We expect attendees to help us keep all provided housing spaces safe from intimidation, violence, sexual misconduct, homophobia and racism. We are not afraid to call anyone out on this and we are not afraid to ask people who are being disrespectful or making others uncomfortable to leave.
If you have special needs regarding housing, please don't hesitate to contact us at halaconference@yahoo.com. We want to accomodate you.

Smart things to bring: sleeping bag, extra blankets (it gets cold 'round here in November!), a heavy coat, mess kit if you've got one (saves us from washing a bunch of dishes), water bottle, pillow, and, for god's sake, a toothbrush.
